Resolved Question: is Victorville, CA a safe place to live?

I am moving back to CA and am thinking of moving to Victorville as the house there are within my price range. I saw the last posting was 2 yrs ago and not many people would recommend that area. Since two years has pass i would like a current opinion. Thanks! i don't see a reply button anywhere, but thanks for the info.
